After about a two year break I had my first class back today. Cal helped me pick the best weight and even helped me switch up a movement because of my shoulder. The other boy gym I’ll ever go to specifically for the coaching.

This is a phenomenal north Phoenix area gym and a great CrossFit fitness community. The group class caters to every level and skill from first timer workouts to advanced. Cal is great and he makes the workouts fun but challenging and is always available to guide and modify workouts. Highly recommend all the personal trainers at Tusk!

Another tough workout today—as usual, haha! But I just want to give a big shoutout to Coach Laura. She's always so helpful, not just with me but with everyone in the class. Whenever we have questions about form or technique, she takes the time to explain and demonstrate things clearly. Her encouragement throughout the workout really keeps the energy up and helps push us through. Grateful to have such an engaged and supportive coach!
I was pretty tired today but Laura was very motivating during class and the workout and I was able to push through. She’s very knowledgeable with all the movements so I knew exactly what I should be doing. The class ran smoothly and ended on time. I’d love to try and attend her classes more often.
I love how encouraging Caralyn is and how she watches everybody, even when you don’t think she’s watching she’ll come over and make corrections or encourage you!

Even in the shorter class time of Burn 30, Laura led a great warm up and coached us through what as written as a somewhat confusing workout. She was great!

Great experience. It was my first go at anything outside of just my garage. A little intimidating going into it’d but Zach made sure I felt comfortable and helped me through with any questions I had. Caralyn was awesome as always!! She explained the workout and lifting portion for everyone to understand. Made adjustments or changed movements for us if we needed them to be able to complete the workout. She came around and made sure we were doing ok during the workout.
Coach Caralyn worked with my lower back issues today and altered the movements to allow me to still get a great workout but protect the muscles that were giving me issues. And everyone in the class was supportive, I never feel uncomfortable doing something different than the workout of the day. Great class today!

Caralyn’s classes are always filled with great instruction on the movements, form and technique. Not to mention her encouragement during the workout, her corrections to form so no injuries, her great music and always a high five afterwards! I try to make Caralyn’s as often as I can!! 🙌🙌
To start, the warm ups are always so thorough no matter what the workout is. You can always count on every movement being broken down and gone through thoroughly! Cal is always readily available to answer any questions and help with any modifications if necessary. Feedback and corrections during the workout are also given which goes to show the attention to detail as well as emphasis on good form this gym has!
Coaching is always great. Through guiding class through a specific warmup for the days WOD, to helping you determine how to scale if need be. They then walk around during workouts to make sure you are staying on track to finish the workout.
Cal is a great coach! I appreciate that he sees potential in all of his members and then helps them reach goals they never knew they could reach. He’s passionate about fitness and it comes across in every class. He knows how to scale workouts to meet each athletes needs which makes everyone feel included. I’m grateful for my Tusk family - couldn’t imagine myself anywhere else!

Everyone here including Carolyn just has a good vibe I’m 17 and I’ve been trying to get stronger Everyone there lifts more than me but not once did I feel judged or looked down on Everyone was giving me tips on how to do different movements and how to avoid getting hurt If you have a large ego that could hurt. But if you have a positive attitude towards working out and you want to progress and BECOME strong versus go to a gym to LOOK strong you’ll have a great time. Seriously, other gyms positive advertisement is “nobodies looking don’t worry” but here everyone works together and will help you And if you’re more introverted and don’t feel like talking, I’ve noticed people are responsive to that as well

Cal is always teaching technique, went over rowing techniques today that helped out immensely. Always encouraging during workouts, and always has a pulse on every person and where they are fitness wise. One of the things I appreciate most about coach Zach is his emphasis on correct form. He doesn't hesitate to tell the truth and correct you, ensuring that you get the most out of every workout while avoiding injury. Despite my long tenure in his classes, I always learn something new from him. I enjoy picking his brain, and he is always—without fail—open to sharing his ideas and strategies about training. Highly recommended! And so glad I found the Tusk family.

Nate is a rockstar. Super knowledgeable and encouraging throughout the workouts. He always helps me out, and makes me feel like Superman even when I show up after missing the last two weeks and after eating ice cream on nights when I shouldn’t, he helps me get back into shape and feeling healthier!

It was great!! Zachary helped me push myself to my limits. Which i feel i need for motivation. It felt really good after finishing the workout. Not gonna lie it was tough and exhausting but it was fulfilling after class. Hoping tomorrow’s body aches won’t get in the way of joining the 7:30 class. Again it was fun and an amazing workout.

Tusk is the best! Great coaching makes crossfit accessible to everyone. Always challenging, Always changing; keeps me on my toes. Even when my toes aren't near the bar. Cal is an awesome coach. Caralyn is a rock star! She always takes the time to explain the workout in detail and makes sure that you understand exactly what you are doing that day. When it comes to coaching during the strength portion or workout portion of class she is very good at keeping an eye on everyone to make sure they are doing it correctly and is very good at coaching an individual when needed. Whether that is tweaking your form to prevent injury, giving you a suggestion to improve your skill and/or efficiency or just a verbal "good job, keep it up!" to keep you motivated! Lastly, she is very personable and very friendly to any and all members too!
Caralyn is always “crushing it” as the noon coach, fostering a strong community of premiere athletes who are all smart, handsome/pretty, and extremely athletic.
Best gym in town. Will accommodate to every need and workout level desired. I’ve been through a pregnancy and now a personal injury and all the coaches are extremely knowledgeable/trained in helping to modifying the workouts to keep you moving. Oh and they offer special technique lifting classes on Friday evenings and there is a Dr. physical therapist onsite.
