What’s one positive change you’ve noticed since joining emPower Training Systems?
The class was great. Fast paced and she kept it moving. I appreciate when there isn’t so much down time. The count down was nice to since it’s hard to workout and watch the clock. Definitely would recommend this workout, my only wish is it started earlier on a Friday night at like 5 or 5:30, by 6:30 I’m ready to relax for the night so it was hard being motivated to come that late.
The coaching today was great. She took the time to offer clear alternatives for those of us new to the exercises, explaining each option carefully so nobody felt left behind or confused. The workout itself was challenging, with a well-balanced mix of strength moves like weighted squats and push presses, paired with cardio bursts. It really tested my limits without ever feeling overwhelming or out of reach.
Josh was motivating, organized, provided a demonstration of each one of the exercise stations. He provided alternative exercise or modifications as needed. Also provided a clear demonstration of the correct way to do many of the lifts in order to protect the back and utilize the intended muscle grip instead of the back. I’ve been a member of many gyms and often times the instructor seems to be there to get a work out for themselves and then provide instruction. That’s not the case here these instructors are there to instruct the participants.
Coach Mike's FLEX class at emPower Training Systems is great. Each week brings a different set of exercises, so the routine never feels stale or repetitive. The workouts are well balanced - challenging enough to push your limits but designed in a way that leaves you feeling accomplished rather than drained. What stands out is how Coach Mike pays attention to individual needs; since I currently have an injury, he offered thoughtful alternatives to exercises I couldn’t do, making sure I still got a solid workout without risking further strain. His guidance on form and pacing helped me stay engaged and confident throughout the session. The energy in the class is motivating, and the variety keeps me coming back eager to see what’s next.
Coach was Mylee, and I really enjoyed it. I moved to Lancaster in summer 2024 from Chicago. I left behind a beloved gym where I’d been a member for 6 years, had worked with a trainer for the last 18 months of my time there, and had done 1500+ strength and conditioning classes there. I’ve been looking for something similar in Lancaster and am glad I found this gym after trying Tread House, Universal, and Limitless where I’ve been lifting on my own with the Ladder app for the last 6 months. Empower is what I’ve been looking for. Every class has been great. The people are so friendly. I hadn’t used a battle rope, sled, or a jump rope at a gym in a year and a half, and that lack of conditioning variety should be illegal!! :)

What’s one positive change you’ve noticed since joining emPower Training Systems? I joined emPOWER at the end of July to strengthen my legs and develop a core to prevent falling. I chose this gym for its intimate design and to connect with people and the environment. On my first training session with Mike, I felt encouraged and supported as well as understood about my memory struggles. After returning from a 2 week vacation, it warmed my heart to hear him say that he genuinely missed me and was glad I was back.
I while I’m older than 99% of these programs available clients at EMP….I continue to learn from Carla. I appreciate that she recognizes the very few shortcomings I have and works from there. I came with them from Greenfield so you know I’m happy.
Love this gym! I always enjoy Mike as a coach as he is very fun and encouraging and friendly! A very tough but good workout today!
This month’s workout is challenging and a lot of fun. Definitely keeps me motivated!
Rob was great today as usual. Did a new exercise tonight and he explained it perfectly. Keeps us motivated- especially with our difficult WOD.😀

Mylee is awesome. She’s so encouraging and kind even when I’m awkward and a bit of an oaf at times.
Carla did great with tweaking weights in the bench to get the most out of my body. And great with spotting while making me 100% empowered to complete the lift

Today we played dodge ball with a twist. I LOVED IT! It brought back a childhood game and nostalgic memories but with a twist. I got a full body workout and thoroughly enjoyed it. I felt challenged, but still able to keep up with everyone. That brings me to the people. There was a broad age range in class, so I felt comfortable and like it didn't matter that I was just starting out again for the first time in a while. Everyone was super sweet and welcomed me in easily. I felt right at home and not awkward at all. It made me really want to come back. The dynamic felt more like that of a family versus what you feel/see in other gyms.
