Had a great workout with Shaina today, since coming back to crossfit I have struggled with my gymnastics movements. In our workout today, we had toes to bar, and Shaina did an awesome job giving cues to help me get the work done. Her simple but effective tip of not moving my head back helped me stay under tension while doing the movement, as she said it would. Thanks Shaina

Carrie is always prepared to lead a great class. Clear with instruction and demonstration. She connects with each attendee to get to know how their body is feeling and makes suggestions for modifications accordingly. This CrossFit gym is awesome. The programming is really effective and great. The coaches are also all amazing and so helpful! I usually take classes when Shaina is coaching and she is so great! She answers questions thoroughly and explains things really well. Thank you! Not to be cheesy, but CrossFit has changed many aspects of my life in a positive way and that I am grateful for.

today was my first cross fit class - Shaina was the instructor and my 6 session on boarding coach. I felt very well prepared for the session and the instructions were clear. Shaina gave great guidance through out the session and helped 1) correct form 2) provide modifications. I also appreciated that she introduced me at the start of class. The workout was tough but doable and I was happy with how the first session went.

Ahhhh another cool class with Coach Curtis today! What I am often reminded of in working with Coach Curtis is the transformative power of a positive attitude! This morning was no exception, in addition to the great atmosphere he builds in his classes. The vibe is fun but dedicated, casual but committed. You get excellent coaching with a smile, enthusiasm, encouragement, and guidance, all in the spirit of getting the most out the workout in the best way possible. Carrie made me feel comfortable immediately on my first class coming out of onboarding. I was nervous and intimidated but the class offered many options, she was present and helpful, set me up with a buddy, and I had a great time and got a great workout. I just took my first workout class in almost a decade, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Janice was incredibly welcoming, motivating, and knowledgeable. I was nervous to walk in alone, but Janice noticed I was an unfamiliar face and greeted me right away! Janice let me know that she had talked to Michelle my onboarding coach and she knew just where to help me scale down my workout! Together everyone at CrossFit Newtown has created a supportive environment that makes me feel comfortable even as a beginner. Class was challenging. I am very thankful for Janice’s energy. I have no had a workout like that in a long time. She not only reminded me of the necessary cues to proficiently perform each movement but checked in on me multiple times to make sure I was comfortable. She also introduced me to the class. Everyone made me feel very comfortable. I can not wait to come back :) next time I look forward to making time to stretc after the workout. For me it was really good. It was great balance of strength and conditioning. I liked that Janice gave me an option to push myself ( added weight ) if I felt I could do more or stay with current if my body wasn’t ready for it all . The conditioning was really good. I was really got my heart rate up in a strong and healthy way. I don’t think I would push myself as hard on my own .

I like the EMOMs (letters?), it makes it feel like the session goes faster, lol. Kayla always provides modifications to meet everyone's individual needs. I love CrossFit but always feel a little nervous when I drop in someone other than my home gym. Michelle immediately introduced herself when I walked in and explained what we were doing. She helped on my form in both snatches and pull ups. She pointed out the bathroom and the water fountain immediately which maybe is a small thing but both things I usually always have to hunt out when I drop in at other gyms. I don’t love snatches and I managed to rip my hand two sets from the end of the workout but my experience was a ten out of ten and I can’t wait to drop in when I’m back in town!
