My air squats and squats have definitely improved since I started at Bay-Wave CrossFit. Before, my form was shaky and I struggled to keep balance, but now I can feel the strength building in my legs and core with every rep. The coaches have helped me focus on proper technique, guiding me patiently through each movement and offering adjustments when needed. I also tried the snatch balance for the first time here, which was a new challenge. It felt unfamiliar at first, but with their clear instructions and encouragement, I gained confidence and actually managed to complete the lifts with better control than I expected. The atmosphere at Bay-Wave CrossFit makes pushing myself easier - there’s a mix of serious focus and supportive energy that keeps me motivated every session.

This was my first class and I felt completely comfortable and very welcome. Marlena was wonderful in explaining everything and how the class would work. She checked on me throughout the whole routine to ensure I was doing okay and was not overdoing it. My workout was modified since it was my first class, yet I still had a great workout!! I will be returning and joining!! Great group of people and very welcoming!!
I liked it! It was a good workout. Josh was great today. Energetic! I like how someone is always watching and correcting form, and I like tracking progress on the app! Everyone is positive and motivate one another. I love Marlena too! I started my journey January 1, 2025, and for the first time in my life, I have stayed consistent and don’t plan to stop. I like how Marlena knows what I can and can’t do, and I like the modifications because I’m surely not to the level of others, at 57. 100 A+ for planning too.

Marlena does such a great job teaching each athlete proper form and coaching appropriate dumbbell/ barbell weight choices. No one gets hurt, but everyone gets stronger!

Marlena is an awesome coach. She pays close attention to where everyone is at capability wise and makes sure we’re getting pushed but not to the extent of poor form. Her warmups always build up to the WOD and ensure we are learning and practicing proper form throughout the entire session.

The gym energy was fantastic throughout and really helped set the tone. All coaches were clear in your instruction, making each movement. I walked out of each class feeling challenged in a good way and confident that I’d done things safely and effectively. Looking forward to next time — thank you for a week it was amazing to get back into the gym.

As someone new to crossfit, not in great shape and also 60 years old, having a coach that really works with you, scales you down so the workout is doable makes the difference between being there and not coming back. Great coach!

Marlena does an outstanding job of coaching all levels and skills. She definitely helps to motivate you to do more but safely within your abilities. Like it so much I have my wife going to Bay-wave crossfit now! Also you do not have to be fit to go to crossfit, you go to crossfit to get fit.

Coach Marlena did so great! She is so intentional with our movement patterns and our weight selection for the workout. She gives us a relevant warm up and nice relaxing cooldown. She always makes sure to ask if anyone has any issue or problem areas, and she does one last recap/check in with everyone before the workout starts. It makes me feel very secure and cared for. She is just the best!!
